Durbanville Sanitary & Plumbing Supplies was established in 1999 and has since grown into one of the Northern Suburbs’ most trusted names in bathroom, kitchen, tile, and plumbing supplies.

The business was acquired by Tom Hollenberg in 2006. As a long-time customer himself, Tom recognised the untapped potential of this kind of business in the Northern Suburbs — and knew exactly what it was missing. He set about filling those gaps, starting with the addition of Durbanville Tiles, which gave the brand its true one-stop-shop identity.

As demand grew, so did the need for dedicated spaces — and that’s when the showroom and plumbing store were born. Though closely connected, the two serve distinct customer needs and together offer a complete solution for any project, big or small.

In 2007, Tom’s daughter Candace D’Amore joined the business full time, bringing with her a Bachelor of Business degree and a fresh perspective that helped shape the brand’s next chapter. Her addition marked a turning point — transforming a growing business into a true family operation in every sense of the word.

That family spirit extended further with the addition of Nico Coetzee and brothers Fabien and Luke Donnoli, who brought the same personal touch to the newer stores.

Recognising a gap in the wider Cape Town market, the business expanded with new stores in Sunningdale and Tokai, followed by Brackenfell — bringing the total to four locations and making quality bathroom and plumbing supplies more accessible across the city.

Today, Durbanville Sanitary & Plumbing Supplies remains proudly family run, deeply community rooted, and fully committed to offering every customer the personalised service and expert guidance that has defined the business for over 25 years.
